The rice pattern, also known as rice grain or grain pattern, is a decorative motif characterized by small, repetitive raised dots resembling grains of rice. During the 18th and 19th centuries, with increased trade and cultural exchange between East and West, the rice pattern motif began to influence Western decorative arts and architecture. 

These backplates measure approximately 6 inches by 2 inches. The Privacy Backplate will have an additional hole for the privacy pin (not included). Sold individually.  They do NOT cover a modern borehole.

Our polished brass has a living finish, which means it naturally darkens and ages over time. If you order multiple pieces in polished brass, there might be slight variations in finish and tone initially. Other finishes won't darken or tarnish. For a lasting shiny polished brass finish, you can request a custom lacquered brass finish by emailing us.
